It is an awesome restaurant with excellent food and service from the entire team! My brother and his partner were visiting from Ireland so I really wanted a nice pub to gather the whole family together and this was the perfect place. We were a group of 8 and had a lovely meal together. I couldn't believe how good the Sunday roast was! Service with a smile, beautiful interior of the pub with ample space and a great atmosphere. Excellent wholesome food in a pleasant environment

We first came here a few months previously after a visit to the theatre, and the food was so good we decided to come back for our Xmas meal. The food was outstanding again, I don't think I have ever eaten better in a pub. I had the duck rillette, followed by the venison, ending with the Xmas pudding. All of it was mouth watering, especially so the venison. The table service was exemplary, the staff were obviously taking pride in their work, and rightly so, given the very high standard of the food. One of our party has a food intolerance and the manager Anna (apologies if I have remembered her name incorrectly!) was most helpful. The overall service given was of the highest standard. My only criticisms were really out of the control of the restaurant staff. One was the very high background noise level, but it was the Friday before Xmas! The other revolved around the lack of Xmas menu choice for vegans, especially in the desserts section, where the only vegan option contained peanuts, the most well-known food allergen. The kitchen was restricted by the chain owners' set menu. Greene King take note!

Really lovely place for a celebratory birthday lunch - we were there til 5pm! We had a surprise guest who arrived late and the staff ensured that the birthday boy didn’t know, continued service regardless but also with the surprise in mind. The menu had so much to offer I couldn’t decide and wanted to try everything! We’ll definitely be back - loved it!
