A TASTE OF TRADITIONThe original Carmella's Cafe, located in New Hartford, New York, opened in 1985. Our goal was to provide our guests with the warmth, charm and quality of a local "Mom & Pop" restaurant with the consistency and controls of a well managed chain. Homemade soups, sauces, pasta, bread served by warm friendly, caring servers was the essence of our business. Our people have to demonstrate an "I care about you" attitude in order to work at Carmella's. We never intended it to be a fancy place... just a place where people of all ages could find good food value and fun in a casual, friendly surrounding! We are now re-dedicating our efforts to those original ideas and are committed to providing our guests with a great experience based on fresh, well prepared food served by people who really care.     My husband & I love this restaurant. Food & service are excellent! Drinks are different & very good. New twists on old recipes. A Manhattan with cherry smoke for an example. Waitresses are up on dishes, how they are made. A very enjoyable evening. With little surprises in between courses. We always get the price fix menu. Expect to pay a little more than an ordinary Utica dinner. But it is truly worth it. The bar area seems to be busy. Very glad we went!

    Carmella's has become one of our Go-To dining destinations. Their combination of service, menu selections and outstanding value keep us coming back! Their 2 for 1 drink special is a typical example of this. They have always produced carefully conceived dishes made with the freshest ingredients and always served at appropriate temperatures. If I have observed one tendency it is to go 'a little light' on spicing and flavor elements - don't be reluctant to spice it up!
