Hopheads is a bar and bottle store dedicated to selling the absolute best Australian and International beers.Our original store was founded in May 2015 and stemmed from the relevant question (at the time) – ‘why aren’t there any good beer stores and bars in the west?’ Founder and beer afficionado Adrian Chong (and long suffering partner Wai Lee) were tired of having to travel across town to access quality beers, so they took it upon themselves to right this egregious wrong – and so the idea of Hopheads was born.Hopheads has since expanded to a second store in Altona, injecting some young blood into the team in the form of the somewhat magnificent Ryan Cochrane.We remain passionate about making the West-side the best-side for beer in Victoria. We dined on a hot day. 36C. The lack of air conditioning made it an uncomfortable sitting. Saying that … the food was amazing! The staff friendly, accomodating when we requested to move to a cooler position. Knowledgeable about how much we should order … they were spot in. I will def be recommending to friends & will be back. Just not on a hot day. The seafood platter & meat platter fed 5 of us. The halloumi chips were some of the best we’ve had.

We decided to enjoy steak night on Thursday. Happened to be some Christmas parties and the pub was short staffed and super loud from the intoxicated patrons. Yes I had to wait 40 minutes for my steak and entree, however the food was served hot, the portion size was plentiful and the taste of both meals were delicious.

We had a wonderful night again at Mona Castle as always. The team were accommodating friendly as always and good was great. A fun night celebrating a special family birthday!
