Horseshoe Grill in North Reading has been family-owned since the 1920s when it was originally a supper club for members only. That changed in 1957 and, since then, patrons have come from all over to sample the famous ribs that have made Horseshoe Grill an institution. We went for dinner and they told us they were short staffed, the bar was packed. We were seated right away. Greeted and served in a very friendly and timely manner. Never would have known they were short staffed! Food was fabulous, as usual as was the service. We left full and happy.

Food was great. Service was great. Warm cozy atmosphere, with several fireplaces. Perfect for a chilly day. Not overly busy or noisy. Nice selection on menu. Went with coworkers & we all enjoyed our meals.

Waitress did not bring bread as requested. Waitress brought can of beer that was soiled on top and did not bring glass for beer as requested.

While we realize that this is a new venture after Covid, Chopps used to be much better. Gone are the servers who brought you coffee, tea and assorted beverages, making it a truly cafeteria style atmosphere. This may be what some people like but after the original Chopps, we were subjected to a less than stellar experience for brunch. The scrambled eggs were horrible. Coffee and tea are served in paper cups at a station. The omelet station was manned by one gentleman who was pleasant but really didn't know that you fold an omelet before presenting it. Fruits and waffles were good, as were the bacon, sausage and cereals. Hard to goof those things up. I don't believe we'll be going back to his version of Chopps unless we hear they have made some adjustments to their presentation.
