General Public is inspired by trying to imagine what an upscale English pub would be if it had the heart of an American brasserie (and was open 11 to 11). It’s also going to signal a little bit of steakhouse, but not too much. And finally, it will look behind itself at the Black Hoof, which you will see reflected in James Santon’s menu here and there. In terms of vibe, the main floor is ‘everything’s gone green’, with lush comfortable banquette seating, warm wood, and barstools designed for long conversations over many cocktails. Upstairs you’ll find a completely different space that transports you to a peachy 80s dream. We had an outstanding experience at Alder. My family had been trying to make the trip for some time and the anticipation only made our meal that much sweeter. Tiffany was very attentive and so lovely! She had great recommendations and personalized the experience in a really memorable way for all of us. Exceptional food and wine, and really fantastic service from the whole team — we did not want for anything. Thank you all very much!

The service and ambiance was great. Notable dishes were the challah and fluke and fennel. The fries were perfectly crispy and the broccoli was very flavourful. However, the ribeye was average, it lacked flavour but cooked properly yo medium rare.

Always a pleasure to dine at CHOP Vaughan Food and Service was exceptional It’s nice to see that as usual Chris the Manager stays involved good to see the Boss in action which shows me that he cares Chop always on Top
