La Ripaille, inaugurado en 1980, es uno de los restaurantes más antiguos de West Village. Algunos de sus clientes habituales llevan 25 años viniendo. Nombrado en honor al novelista francés de principios del siglo 20, Pierre Loti Union Square ofrece una extensa carta de vinos europeos. En la carta predominan los varietales. Excellent service. A little pricey. Shouldnt charge for bread - if u had to raise all the prices by a buck and make compliemtary bread- also prefer non olive variety bread too. Place overall excellent

Excellent as ever. I have been going to La Ripaille for more than 20 years and it never disappoints, especially in the holiday time. It's a West Village legend for a reason: apart from the amazing food, the staff is always warm and inviting, and that has no doubt a lot to do with Alain, who has been the captain of this gem of a ship for decades. Word is its days are numbered and I will be sad to see it go. Its continued presence in an ever-changing NY was, and for now, is a comfort.

Wonderful food, ambiance, service. Couldn't ask for more. Owner is a wonderful person that works hard to make sure all customers are well taken care of. Will definitely go back.

We had a wonderful time. The service was knowledgeable, friendly and attentive. We had some off menu requests and they accommodated them with no hesitation. We were celebrating a birthday and got to really enjoy our time there. The space was definitely a vibe. Can’t wait to go back.
