Lovely Christmas meal for two. Understaffed but they managed things very well :-)

We were welcomed and shown to our table. We were meeting friends that we had met on holiday and this was our first outing together. Although another friend had recommended The George it’s always a gamble when you have not been before. There was no need to worry as the ambience and quality of food was fantastic. We chose from the Christmas menu and were delighted. We will definitely be back.

Such a special experience! It’s been a difficult year for my wife Christine as she has been very poorly. We could not think of a better place to celebrate getting through 2024. It was my 21st birthday and i ordered the flat iron steak - it was absolutely divine, cooked perfectly. I also got a scoop of ice cream with a candle in on the house! I always love coming here, it feels so sophisticated and classy but laid back at the same time. Every time i visit the Hermitage i have an amazing time. Prices were reasonable considering the quality.

A little disappointed with the pies and vegetables. The broccoli had gone yellow in parts and the meat was not brilliant in the pies. Just a few tweaks to bring the food up to scratch, we had Sunday lunch here before and had to send back parsnips as not cooked. The venue and staff are brilliant, please bring the food up to top notch.
