The sign represents Sir Winston Churchill, an expert bricklayer and whose home was at nearby Chartwell.We pride ourselves on getting involved with the local community and providing a warm and friendly welcome to our visitors. We serve Harvey's Best Bitter straight from the barrel, a fantastic range of wine and beautifully home cooked British pub food. You will find the Pavilion restaurant next to the main house, opposite the Mews Houses. Ample parking available.Please be aware that our disabled lift is currently out of order. The Plough isn't your average countryside pub. Sitting on a quiet lane in a quintessentially English village, The Plough was set to be sold off the developers when 120 members of the community came together to invest, and save, their local. After its purchase and renovation, the Yates family took over the kitchen and opened the pub's small, but proud, restaurant, Bowleys. Head Chef Alex Yates is still very early on in his career but though only in his early twenties, he has already spent two years in the kitchens at The Goring Hotel in London, as well as having gained experience with Rick Stein and even once cooking for the Queen. Bowleys menus have a traditional feel and adhere to classic, English fare with a fine dining twist. There are several options to choose between including a tasting menu, set lunch, a la carte, brunch and Sunday lunch. The tasting menu is the jewel in Bowleys crown and consists of five courses, with an optional sixth.

Absolutely loved it the only thing I could say was the starter had no sauce in the prawn cocktail very odd but it was so busy we just carried on the rest of the food was spot on and will definitely return

Always great here. Really good value the set menu is fabulous. Food always lovely . New waitress who did really well however my only tiny criticism is never enough staff but hey ho .

We were a group of 5 that dined yesterday for lunch. We all thoroughly enjoyed our dishes, all extremely well presented and nothing left on our plates! The service was spot on, lovely young girl who was most polite. Only negative was that we were a little cold but luckily, seated by the fire, we did eventually warm up.

Really recommend the Pavilion. Have been here multiple times for the Sunday roast and recently visited for dinner on Saturday. The menu options were great and the food was of very high quality. Great value for money in this day and age! Service was great as well - they’re always super lovely and welcoming.
