From July 1st, 1957, there had been two owners of Pates, Cloyde Pate followed by the Gardner family of Chatham. Mr. Pate opened the doors to what would soon become one of Cape Cod’s most beloved restaurants. Appetizers were amazing! My son had the swordfish, not one spec of food left. My other son had the seafood casserole, lobster, shrimp, and scallops, over pasta, again delicious. I had the turkey dinner, it was very good, but for my taste, much too salty. All and all it was a wonderful evening.

The wild goose Tavern was absolutely phenomenal. The buffet that was served on Thanksgiving day was unbeatable. The appetizer station was outstanding with the selection for Thanksgiving. They provided all the Thanksgiving favorites that would’ve been served if we had the dinner at our house. My wife and I and my mom were totally impressed. Making this a new family tradition. Thank you so much to the chef and staff for an outstanding performance.

It was a cozy, comfortable space for a holiday get-together. The service was perfect and though the menu was somewhat limited, the food was excellent.
