Loudons Café & Bakery serves Scottish and continental delicacies from its location at 94B Fountainbridge. Burgers, quiche, soup and pancakes, as well as a vast selection of cakes feature on a menu where most items are made on site and ingredients are locally sourced. The large centrally located cafe is child-friendly and has outdoor seating and free wi-fi and house an in-house bakery downstairs. The Blackbird Bar and Restaurant, at 37-39 Leven Street in the Bruntsfield area of south-west Edinburgh, serves modern Scottish cuisine. It is located close to The Meadows public park, less than 10 minutes by car or taxi from Waverley and Haymarket Railway Stations; Edinburgh Castle and the city centre are around 20 minutes' walk away. The exposed stone walls of its traditional, tavern-like interior give it an authentically Scottish atmosphere and it also has a beer garden in which to enjoy an al fresco drink or bite to eat in the warmer summer months. The Blackbird’s menu is composed of gourmet burgers, fresh fish of the day, hearty soups and sumptuous salads, to be accompanied by something from the drinks menu – a glass of craft beer, premium ale or fine wine, perhaps – organic teas and coffees are also available.

We were 3 adults and 5 children aged between 10 & 15. We had a very positive experience. We were visiting Edinburgh to catch up with each other and this place was perfect to do that, it was really easy to talk to each other. The service was excellent all wait staff were absolutely lovely and the food was great.

Liked the rock n roll theme in the place. The food was really good, great value at £17 for a chicken burger and fries. Had the gravy train chicken burger upgrade the fries to the salt and chilli ones. Shared a gingerbread shake after. The music was good. Will definitely go back

Breakfast was outstanding. Simple but flavorful. I had the haggis Benedict and the wife and apple pancakes. If you've never had Haggis, this is definitely a good watch to try it for the first time.
