The Powis Arms is a traditional Georgian coaching inn devoted to serving delicious, local food from menus that morph and change according to the seasons, paired with a straightforward wine list, spirits and regional beer selection. The Powis Arms has been at the heart of this historic village for over 200 years. Today the building welcomes its locals and visitors with open arms, offering a place to sit down, relax, and enjoy some of the best food and drink in the county, surrounded by friends, family and neighbours…your dogs are welcome too! On a summers afternoon be sure to visit our semi-covered deck overlooking the open countryside to the rear of the pub, which perfectly captures the afternoon sun.Adjacent to the front gates of Walcot Hall, one of the UK’s most unique Wedding Venues and holiday destinations, and surrounded by some of the country’s most glorious hill walking, The Powis Arms is the perfect base for any country adventure.

Leonard Wilfred Davies, born 19 December 1906, started a butcher's dynasty now four generations old. His butchers typical cheeky sense of humour now lives on through his grandchildren along with his knowledge of butchery. In 1997 Leonard’s grandson Richard opened The Station Inn, which quickly generated a great reputation for quality steak. With Richard’s son, Ben’s passion and expertise as Head Chef and Butcher, The Station’s dining experience is a true reflection of the families deep passion for serving amazing steak.20 years on from opening The Station a major upgrade has taken place, which at its core aims to celebrate the families heritage and knowledge of meat. In order to identify your exact preferences the chefs help you choose the best cut of beef to cook for dinner. It makes for an unforgettable ‘butchery and dining’ experience.

What a lovely and surprising find. We were shown to out table straight away. Food was beautiful and excellent value for money. Although there several diners it wasn't noisy. Service was prompt without being intrusive.

Delightful! The four of us were quietly celebrating a birthday. The attention given to us by the staff was perfect. Attentive and not intrusive. The food was just fabulous. I had the crab fish cakes to start and the beef roast dinner with a cheeky cauliflower cheese. Then finishing with a caramel Eaton mess and coffee. I can honestly say it was the best meal out we have had for ages. Thank you

This was our first visit to the Lion and we had booked for Sunday lunch. Whilst the quality of the food was very good one slice of meat didn’t quite just justify £22 in our opinion. Overall the service was good, it was a busy restaurant and the staff you could see were working hard. The rest of the meal was good and we intend to visit again.
