Rengaya has been serving YAKINIKU in North Sydney since 1993, making it one of Australia’s pioneering Japanese barbeque restaurants. Now, that tradition is set to continue at its new digs on Miller Street – just a short stroll from the original location – in a much more modern, striking setting. The new fit-out features bar-counter seats around an open kitchen, red booth seating divided by Japanese-style timber panelling and a hard-to-miss chandelier. There’s also a 20-seat private dining room. We use only the finest ingredients such as Japanese Black Cattle made in Australia for beef, Sashimi and Seafood fresh from the sea.     There’s no other place like “Bather’s”, where you can sit and watch the people walking by on the promenade, gaze at the ocean and eat wonderful food served by efficient staff. It’s been a favourite restaurant over the many years and holds many wonderful memories.

    Our second time here and it was even better than the first. Fabulous restaurant-the type you’d find in most Japanese neighbourhoods. Nice, fresh, reasonably priced food. Love the wagyu beef bowl. Also loved the icy cold oolong tea- perfect for a summer’s day

    It was my first time at Yakitori Yurripi and I was amazed by how authentic and delicious the food was. We particularly enjoyed the Miso Cod and Pork Belly - both were sensational! Service was quick and friendly, and the ambience reminds me of an izakaya straight out of Japan. The only thing was that we felt 1.5 hours was a bit short for a booking, however the food is great and we will definitely be back.

    Lovely atmosphere and food, staff were attentive, helpful, polite and friendly. Desserts were rather overpriced compared to the rest of the menu. Overall, highly recommend and will definitely be returning. 😍
