   We love evening star and go there for comfort food and delightful environment when we can. A true neighborhood gem. But their bacon cornbread pound cake with dulce de leche was out of this world - truly a unique, memorable, and fantastic dessert! Highly recommend adding that to your meal.

   A very pleasant evening with good friends. Not crowded, so we were never rushed and could spend all the time we wanted. Good drinks. Meatloaf quite tasty, husband had smash burger and fries and the rest of us could not take our fingers out of his fries - exceptional! Good service. It has become a favorite restaurant.

   We have been to to dinner several times and enjoyed the service and meal but last night was by far the worst service and the meal was mediocre…we sat for over 20 mins Before the hostess not the waitress decided to ask if we would like to get anything to drink. Following that the waitress did not come to our table to take order until 45 mins. The food came out lukewarm warm. The only thing that was good was the olives!

   Hi Robin. I'm so sorry that you did not have a good experience. I reviewed OpenTable and the check details from Toast; OT showed you were seated at 7:39 and Toast shows the drink order was rung in at 7:47. Josh, our GM, took your drink order as we had two servers call out sick. Toast shows that Auribel entered the dinner order at 8:05, and that you paid your check at 8:47. I apologize it took the 10 minutes for your drinks; our goal is to greet tables within 3-5 minutes of sitting down. And I'm sorry Auribel did not introduce herself; she is normally very personable and friendly. The timeline for your dinner does not match up, but, regardless, I am very sorry you had an unpleasant experience.    The host refused to sit me at a four top when I had a reservation. Another server said no problem and had the table cleaned so I could sit down. Several servers passed by after I was seated and never greeted me. It was 4 minutes before Carlos said hello after having passed by me several times. The servers don't introduce themselves and if you're going to take care of me, tell me your name so I know who to ask for when I need something.

   One of THE best Restaurant Week experiences (and deals!) we’ve ever had! All four of us LOVED Evening Star Cafe. For appetizers, the Brussels sprouts my husband ordered were delicious, but the cauliflower was beyond amazing! It was a huge hunk, roasted to perfection and served with two divine sauces: a smooth and creamy pesto and spicy salsa. The appetizers alone have made my husband and I huge fans of Evening Star Cafe in perpetuity! We couldn’t believe that all three of our Scottish salmon entrees with Gigante beans and kale were served piping hot simultaneously! Overwhelmed, at this point by the elevated dining experience, we had no needs or expectations but once again the dessert didn’t disappoint! We all chose the red velvet cake and it was light and moist but the chocolate flourless cake looked like a winner as well! So now we need to go back to try the chocolate flourless cake. From now on we’re going to call it “Evening 5 Star Cafe!”

    Good evening Manya- First off thank you for such a glowing review and offering your insight. We love to hear feedback when it involves n how we can make the customer experience continue to be elevated and at the same time approachable. When it comes to requesting tables at The Evening Star and as you know, we do operate with some limitations of having only four of those two-seater booths. I always let customers know we will always do our best when requested and with enough advance heads up.
