Evangeline es el bistro informal que Napa Valley estaba esperando, un establecimiento con un patio jardín y comida, bebida y servicio de primera categoría. Se sirven los productos clásicos de bistro, como las ostras crudas, el croque madame, el salmón ahumado y el filete de res con papas fritas, de la forma más sabrosa que haya visto o probado. Además, el repertorio francés y criollo del chef Gustavo Ríos incluye platillos especiales diarios, como el estofado de camarones, el gumbo ya-ya y el pollo frito. Asimismo, el restaurante cuenta con una extensa variedad de vinos por copas gracias a un sistema de tirador, con el que se sirven vinos exclusivos que normalmente solo se ofrecen en botella con una calidad perfecta. En la barra, elegante y confortable, podrá degustar cervezas y licores locales. La joya del Evangeline es el patio enrejado al aire libre, que cuenta con estufas y ventiladores para comer al aire libre incluso con mal tiempo. El establecimiento, salpicado por la luz del sol y animado con música en vivo, es un idilio en Napa Valley por el que vale la pena el viaje. Hay muchas plazas de aparcamiento gratuito enfrente.

Un lugar muy acogedor, con la mayoría de las mesas en el exterior, la comida fusión creole es estupenda, el servicio es extraordinario, con personal muy atento y servicial, las opciones muy buenas y una selección de vinos y bebidas muy bueno, en verdad lo recomiendo, además de conocer el lugar la zona donde se ubica es increíble para caminar y conocer un pueblo encantador como es Calistoga.

Fabulous food & romantic ambience. Service was very good, except the server said they would bring our app, salad and entrees in 3 separate courses, but they overlapped. Small detail. Highly recommend this restaurant though.

We came for Valentine’s Day . My wife had the short ribs and I had the pork tenderloin along with the French onion soup and beet salad . In a word, everything was fabulous . But I especially wanted to call out the French onion soup. It was dynamite. I mean I’ve had mediocre French onion soup and the kind that takes significant time and effort to make. This was definitely the latter. It was so good, and prepared with cheese on top and sitting on bread soaked in the soup. Felt like we were at a bistro in Paris. And the cozy farmhouse atmosphere and moderate noise level made for a very romantic outing. Will come back again for sure.

We had dinner on Valentine’s Day. We arrived well before our reservation time so we sat at the bar. The Saserac cocktail was amazing! The host/perhaps owner was someone gruff, when we arrived and seemed annoyed, but when came to us at the bar to be seated he was kind and humorous. Something must have ruffled his feathers earlier. I had the salmon and my partner had the halibut, both delicious and perfectly prepared. My partner, however would have preferred risotto or rice pilaf with the halibut rather than white beans. I would definitely go back!

Was seated outside despite making indoor reservation, took 1 hr 20 mins since we ordered for food to arrive. Food came look warm, parts of it cold as if it came out of the fridge. Very mediocre bouillabaisse. Wine on the menu listed as 2019 but brought us 2020 year. Very disappointing experience.

It was a great dining experience and our waiter was super helpful with the menu. It wasn’t very busy when we dined in and it was raining outside so we were all inside. Food was incredible. Only thing I would’ve liked is more speciality cocktail variation. They seemed super basic which isn’t a big issue but would have loved to see more creativity.

Although it came quickly, our food was cold. From the appetizers to the main courses. I had to send my braised beef back to be warmed up. It was my Birthday and on the notes my wife let them know that and called ahead to remind them. They did not bring by the free birthday dessert yet a party at another table received theirs. Overall it was not the best experience for the price of the food. I would not return.

We had a lovely dinner at Evangeline for restaurant week. The food was yummy, the service was responsive and friendly. The temperature in the restaurant was cold; we were told that the door need to stay open because it is a patio restaurant and there were some folks seated in the outdoor space. Could the staff enter and exit through a closed swinging door??
