A resplendent thatched-roof Inn, located in the heart of Devon, two miles from the coastal town of Sidmouth. With eight recently renovated rooms, the Blue Ball is a snuggly, seaside treat of a place. Locally sourced seafood specials are the order of the day, supplied by renowned Cornish fishmonger Flying Fish, coupled with a well-stocked bar of real ales, liveners & pick me ups!     Warm greeting and comfortable table. Food was outstanding and we were very well looked after by our wonderful waitress. Calamari was possibly the best I have ever eaten and all our food was first class. Clean plates all round. Highly recommend … we will certainly be returning.

    Food was lovely, atmosphere was great , wasn’t too noisy. The service was good but a little slow between servings . It was busy so it’s understandable… Overall it was amazing

    Customer service and food excellent. Atmosphere relaxed and informal, staff know their stuff, work very hard to keep everyone happy. Menu choices good, portions just right. Really impressed. Will definitely return.

    Very warm and welcoming, super friendly staff Liz really looked after us and the food was brilliant too can’t recommend enough :)

    Visited the Balfour on Sunday with my wife and with my sister. We each opted for a starter, Sunday roast and a pudding and all three courses were absolutely outstanding. Never been here before but absolutely will come back again. Best roast I have had for years. Decent price, and really good, friendly atmosphere.
