What they discovered on that journey was an idea that later became a restaurant - Volta do Mar – meaning; to return from the sea.Our menus at Volta do Mar showcase the delicious regional cuisine of Portugal and celebrate the international culinary confluences from its trading past. We cook Portuguese classics and dishes from the countries and places along its former trade routes, touching on Brazil, Cape Verde, Angola, Mozambique, Goa, Macau and Japan. The dinner took about 1 hour to arrive at the table. The staff is nice and attentive but they are not prepared to serve when the restaurant is full.

Really nice restaurant in a great location. Good, authentic food on a small but varied menu with lots of drinks options. Friendly staff. Food portions were more than adequate but lose a star for having cold dining plates at the table. I was also surprised at a hefty 13.5% tip automatically added to the bill - 10% OK, 12.5% maybe - but 13.5% - not really on as, for example, this effectively put our £40 bottle of wine at £45.40 ... £5.40 for bringing it to the table in an ice-bucket and opening the bottle! All in all - a good experience - four adults with a mix of starters and mains to share, with one bottle of wine - £180 - a bit steep for lunch, but as my wife said, "We are in London"
