What do you really want from a restaurant? Maybe a warm welcome, comfortable and stylish atmosphere, attentive service, talented chef, knowledgeable sommelier, clean toilets? Sounds easy but so often I’m disappointed by places that can’t deliver these basic elements. Clava, in West Byfleet, opened a couple of years ago by Chef Valentino, does all of this with effortless competence. It becomes self-evident when you’re eating food that takes years of training and practice, days of preparation and moments of brilliance to deliver. It doesn’t want or need Michelin praise, it’s so good. I hesitate to share this because I want to be able to get a table before word gets out. Try it while you can.

Intimate dinning experience with only room for 10 covers. Food and service was good Only minor thing is the toilets is not in the restaurant, instead you are given a key fob and asked to go outside and down the side walkway …..clean and tidy toilet but absolutely freezing as no heater in it But as I say that’s only a minor issue, I’m there for the food and drink which was excellent

Lovely food and wine as always. It was very busy and buzzy, a great Friday night out.

Love piccolinos and always a first choice for my friends and I to meet up .. with the recent updated seating and bar it looks retro - beautiful !! Food And service is amazing as always … hopefully once the windows are in it will be a little warmer in the future …

Adult son wanted a "nice pizza" for birthday celebration - 6 adults, with some differing dietary requirements (veg, etc). All were catered for. Cocktails also. Pizzas were fantastic quality, Linguini, and Risottos were also one of the best had for a long while. Wasn't busy about half full, very good service, and a good night all round. We will be back!
