This warm and appealing gastropub has been renovated throughout to showcase an array of local antiques including a stunning array of Barraclough clocks, homage to John Barraclough himself, Clockmaker to the Brontes, who used to live in this very building in the Georgian era.We serve only food made using the freshest seasonal British produce and our menu changes through the weeks to reflect this. We have a custom-made Josper charcoal grill which is the hottest indoor grill available and used by the best restaurants in the country. The staff couldn't be more helpful and we thought it was equivalent to the 2 star Michelin meals we have previously had but the price is a lot less. My guests are particularly picky and hard to impress but they thought it was wonderful. The Sunday lunch is amazing value. There was so much food we couldn't finish it .As always the food is extremely good. I usually end up feeling frustrated when we go out because l can cook better meals than is served but this certainly isn't the case here. The atmosphere is lovely and very relaxing. It's informal and friendly and the staff are very attentive and couldn't do enough to be more helpful. I love the stained glass windows and the very comfortable upholstered chairs Thank you box tree for a lovely relaxing time.

Have had excellent weekday lunches there before but this was the first time for Sunday lunch and we were not disappointed and will definitely be going back again and would recommend it

Absolutely lovely, we were lucky the weather was lovely so we were able to sit outside. Will definitely go again.
