Bright and airy, with a vintage retro style and featuring distressed wooden tables topped in white marble, salvage greenhouse window frames and comfy linen banquettes, Salt continues Avoca’s emphasis on serving delicious, seasonal dishes with largely locally sourced ingredients. Salt's name comes its Salthill locale - which itself was derived from salt works that were once here - plus the nearby sea and, of course, the seasoning. Menus are fresh and interesting (see below), with plenty of appetizing salads and lighter lunch dishes, reasonably priced for the casual mid-week crowd.

Really nice food, well presented,.goodneines and and professional waiting staff, kind, welcoming an on the ball. The place was full but did not feel crowded. Well managed restaurant.

The food was amazing every course. Loved the mac and cheese bites the soup was very good, The beef was so good and tender the cauliflower and cheese was best ive had. Really Good brunch menu. Pancakes fab and served with plenty of crispy bacon. Waffle dish was a small portion - just the one small waffle. Excellent coffee. Excellent service. Dog friendly (on the covered terrace). The down side was that we were the only diners, so atmosphere was lacking. Very good value for money though
