The Crown has been welcoming guests for over 600 years. We pride ourselves in being a traditional village inn; a warm welcome awaits. The cosy fireside bar offers the unique ambience of our historic inn, along with traditional ales, lagers and an extensive wine and drinks list.

Whether you are after a light bite, a meal with friends, or sharing a family celebration our oak-panelled restaurant or relaxed lounge provides the perfect setting. Our head chef sources local and seasonal ingredients to deliver fresh, traditional and contemporary dishes for all tastes and dietary requirements. Children are welcomed and can choose from their own seasonal menu.

In warmer months, our sheltered courtyard garden enjoys the full midday sun. The small central courtyard is also available to book by request and offers a lovely private table. Balmy afternoons and evenings will find the front terrace full of diners and drinkers, enjoying the perfect spot for sundowners and watching the world go by.

The Crown offers a varied, fresh and locally sourced, traditional à la Carte menu for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Choose from nibbles and lighter bites, daily specials or our full menu. A Prix Fixe menu is available at lunchtime on weekdays. We also offer Celebration and Party Menus for all events.

This is such a beautiful pub, no gimmicks just a stunning old building full of original features & character, but it would be 100 times better without all the bright lights, which completely ruin the atmosphere. With great food & service, with this small tweak it would the perfect pub

Lovely place for a catch up with Familly. Great food and wine. Never had a bad meal all the times we have eaten there. Service is always very good.

Staff could not have been more friendly or helpful, explaining the ingredients when we queried them, and willingly checked with the kitchen

Lamb main course and desert were very good but the brown shrimp - actually served I think on a crumpet - was expensive and disappointing.

We chose the Crown as a half way meeting point with extended family, what a great choice, to start with the ambiance was beautiful and very historic, the welcome was most friendly, the service was all you could ask for, the menu was different and interesting, and the food was the with out doubt the best we have tasted for a long time, particularly at those prices ,the four of us chose differently and were all delighted with our choices , a fantastic experience, next time we are in that area we will definitely call in again, better than 5 out of 5 Graham and Sue Maddox
