Steaks and lobster take center stage at Chophouse ’47. This bustling New York-style steakhouse in Greenville continues to wow year after year (since 2001 to be exact) with ‘Top Restaurant’ awards, as well as wine ‘Award of Excellence’. The exceptional service and high-quality menu includes expertly broiled USDA prime aged beef, colossal baked shrimp and shareable sides; for dessert, dive fork first into white chocolate banana cream pie.     The steak was extra good. We had the bone in ribeye and it was the perfect cut of meat cooked perfectly and perfectly seasoned. One of the best steaks we’ve had in a long time.

    We went to Chophouse 47 for Valentines Day dinner. It was packed and we had to wait a little, which was expected. Our waiter handled it very well and the food was great. I'll be sure to come back when it's not as busy.

    Our waiter, Robert, was excellent and very knowledgeable. We had steak and salmon and both were great. The setting was super, maybe a little crowded with tables a little too close together. But overall, a great experience.

    Everything was TOP TIER! Seating was prompt and excellent customer service. I love the way they setup your meals for you. Tables are a little small but the server manage them very well for you. Very romantic with low lighting. Also great music selections.

    Food was WONDERFUL! Our only complaint was watching everyone around us being tended to while we sat before them and had not even had a drink order placed. We arrived at 9:00 for a 9:15 reservation sat at 9:35 and was not waited on until 10:20. For a first time experience that kind of put a damper on it, but other than that everything was great!

    Chophouse has always been our go-to destination for special occasions, holidays, and an exceptional dining experience. However, our last three visits this year have been disappointing, particularly in terms of service. Despite having reservations, we experienced long wait times before being seated. Most recently, our server’s professionalism did not align with the high standards we have come to expect from Chophouse. There were prolonged delays between courses, and four out of five of us did not receive our drinks as ordered. Additionally, upon arrival, we were initially told that our reservation could not be found, only for another staff member to later locate it—without any acknowledgment or apology for the oversight. That being said, as always, the food was exceptional, maintaining the high quality we have come to expect from Chophouse. However, great food should be complemented by great service, and unfortunately, that aspect has been lacking in our recent visits. Even our son remarked that perhaps it’s time to take a break from Chophouse in hopes that they can restore the exceptional service that once set them apart. It’s disappointing to see such a decline, and I truly hope they address these issues to return to their former excellence.
