Overall had a great night! Our service was top notch. We ordered 3 apps & dinners. The clam casino app was tasty BUT in several of the clams was either sand or shell which was very unpleasant. The cocktail menu was “in process of being changed from fall to winter menu” which we thought was strange as it is clearly mid-December. Other than that the food was great.

I had heard so much about this establishment. Looked for a place to enjoy lunch with my friend whilst downtown on errands. Food was simply okay. Lobster bisque was tasty, not the best recipe, but good, yet it was not hot merely lukewarm. Grill cheese sounded good. Again, not quite finished. Brie not melted through and oozing. No crunch to the grilled bread. Service was superb. The fact that staff stood at the table next to us folding napkins ruined the ambiance making us feel like we were back-of-house. Maybe dinner is another story, but I don't think I will be back anytime soon.

Overrated? Food was great. Servers were awesome. The place is a bit noisy and the tables were wobbly, which I don't expect in a high-end steakhouse. Reception was terrible. The receptionists were impolite and condescending -- never smiled, never even greeted me or welcomed me into their elite establishment. Treated me like I was interrupting them. Overall value as expected.

It’s a great restaurant in a great location. Our server was accommodating and the food was good as always. We made it to the theatre on time!

This was a huge dining disappointment. We were left waiting for our table that we had a reservation for because the receptionist gave it to a late coming party. The food was very expensive and not good. My steak that was ordered medium rare arrived very well done. It looked like a cinder on the plate. My dining partner had the same result. The drinks at the bar were good, but wickedly expensive, 54.00 for a martini, a glass of wine and a bourbon on the rocks.

Saturday night dinner with long-time friends. Wish we had gone somewhere else for dinner as the loud techno music -- picked by the bartender -- is unbecoming for a steakhouse. Request to speak with F&B manager went unfulfilled. Steaks were cooked properly but lacked flavor and were somewhat chewy. The mushrooms and baked potato were good. From now on we'll stick to going to Max Chophouse or Rare 3001 for steak dinners out in Rochester.

The food was overpriced. We do not mind paying a premium price for good food however Charr did not deliver. Some of our food was cold. Service staff was very attentive.

Knowledgeable wait staff made narrowing dinner selections possible. Special requests honored. Able to sample wines to make a decision. Lots of variety on the menu making it possible for picky eaters to find something they liked.
