Bringing 1940s Paris to modern-day Edinburgh, Café St Honoré restaurant is a charming bistro serving up traditional French cuisine (with a few Scottish favourites thrown in) to a loyal clientele. Tucked away on a picturesque cobbled lane in the New Town, the cosy dining room at Café St Honore, with mirrored walls and black-and-white tiled floors, provides an atmospheric retreat. The team here are passionate about local, organic produce, so the menu changes daily. There are prix fixe menus on offer at lunch and dinner if you’re after a bargain, or just need an excuse to indulge in dessert. In the evening, a seasonal menu du jour is available alongside the full a la carte, which features dishes like roast pheasant with red cabbage and pancetta; Our warming Cafe St Honore Cassoulet; and vanilla crème brûlée. The wine list features some excellent French wines – a real treat for novices and connoisseurs alike.

We are offering a set 5-course tasting menu on the evening of Sunday 31st December. This menu is priced at £97-50 per head and as with all of our reservations, we are more than happy to cater for dietary requirements provided we are given plenty of advanced warning. We are taking reservations between 6pm-8pm and asking guests to vacate the restaurant by 11pm. We hope to have the pleasure of welcoming you and please do not hesitate to contact us with any further queries. All reservation are to be made with the restaurant by phone.

Cafe St H used to be a favourite when I worked regularly in Edinburgh. Hadn’t been in 5 years but was really happy to find that nothing had changed. Terrine and cod were both perfectly cooked, sourdough is to die for, and the staff made my daughter feel special. In times of change so good to see somethings’ remain timeless. More Paris than most Paris restaurants - and it was full !

We love coming to the restaurant, and always try to visit when we are down from Aberdeen. On this occasion we were a little disappointed with the menu choices...didn't expect to see turkey...but the food we did order was lovely. We were next to a table of four who were quite loud but otherwise a nice evening.

Last year we tried to book, but unfortunately we couldn't. This year we were lucky ! And glad we could find a table. We loved the food, atmosphere and the staff were just great. St. Honoré is a gem, good place to relax and enjoy good food.

Cozy and warm in all the best ways. People were lovely and the food was outstanding. We had venison and lentils and pork belly. So scrumptious!!!

Our favourite restaurant in Edinburgh… Never, ever fails to provide excellent combinations of locally sourced, sustainable ingredients, exquisitely prepared. It’s unpretentious but utterly professional cuisine served with great charm and efficiency in a welcoming, relaxed setting, reminiscent of the very best traditional French bistros.
