Always an exceptional dining experience! Super attentive wait staff and food that is delicious! Enjoyed oysters, wedge salads, lobster mac and cheese, aged ribeye and crab cakes. The sangria was divine as was dessert. Don't forget to have a cappuccino...the perfect ending to a wonderful meal!

Food and service was good. I would have liked to have seen 1 solid ice cube in The Godfather Old Fash, vice regular ice cubes. It was a pricey cocktail, with subpar ice. The back room we were sat in was not as impressive as the main dining room or the livelier bar area downstairs. I would request to sit in either of those two areas. The “back room” was a little stuffy and awkward seating arrangement for $150 per person meal. A signed card from the staff for my birthday was a nice touch.

Enjoyed a delicious anniversary dinner last night at Byrd and Baldwin! It was our third time visiting and does not disappoint. We shared the crab cake appetizer and each had the fillet mignon. The crab cake had minimal filler (if any) and the steaks were tender and cooked perfectly. This is a go to place for a special evening out!

So we probably had our best Hampton Roads area meal here last Christmas Eve. It was truly special. This year, not so much. The lump crab meat crab cake appetizers were okay. Last year they were remarkable for their flavor and seasoning. This year something was "off". They are typically characterized by very little filling and truly are lump lump crab meat. But they were unusually bland. That should have been seen as how the rest of the meal would go. I had the small filet and it was first class--served hot, cooked perfectly and was a melt in your mouth cut. My partner had the fish topped with lump crabmeat and a light lemon butter sauce. It was unusually dry, perhaps having been prepared ahead of time and put under a heating lamp. Dry as in really, really dry. And at $60 it cost more than my steak. It was barely okay at best. The lump crab meat could not compensate for the fish. The sides were great and initially the service was special. After ordering a bottle of wine we had both been served our first glass about the time the crab cakes came out and the bottle was placed on a table in the middle of the dining room. The entrees came out a short time later and our waiter disappeared. He later apologized and explained he got pulled to another area. In any event, we had almost completely finished our main courses with empty wine glasses so I got up retrieved the bottle and brought it to our table. I'm not above serving my own wine, I have no problem with that but I was torn between being disrespectful to the server and having wine with our meal. I shouldn't have been put in that position. This is a high end restaurant and the prices reflect that, prices I don't mind paying for but the food and service should reflect the standards one expects. They let us down. Regrettably we won't be returning any time soon.

Excellent fine dining experience and our waiter Frank was the best! Went there for an anniversary and the staff had a signed card at our table waiting for us!
