Active and bustling, in the "Trattoria Style", this Woodbury location of Butera's offers quality food at a great value. Known for their generous portions of pasta entrees, grilled fare, and fresh fish, Butera's has established a fine reputation as a neighborhood place where guests often see people they know.

It is owned and operated by Martin Butera, his wife Laurie, Martin's brother Gary Butera, and partner and chef Nick Zografos. The large open room is tastefully decorated with a traditional and contemporary mix, with rich dark woodwork and stone treatments, granite table tops, a wood and granite bar, fieldstone and hardwood floors, stone fireplace, exposed wine racks and a Tiffany style fixture at the entrance. Fresh flowers complete the handsome decor.

In addition to their extensive menu you can select from the creative specials like Grilled Filet of Halibut with Prince Edward Island Mussels on a citrus rosemary butternut squash risotto.

The staff were friendly and accommodating. The bread to start was nice and warm. The remainder of the dinner was a hit or miss depending on the item. The fried mozzarella was great, the pizza could have been more crispy, and the pasta was average (mainly because of the sauce which was bland, the pasta itself was cooked perfectly). Overall a pleasant experience.

Butera's is a neighborhood gem. Always good. I just wish they'd bring back their apple crostini!

Everything was delicious. We enjoyed mussels, a steak sandwich, a caprese panini and cannolis for dessert. Service was excellent!

One of my two favorite restaurants and what a bonus to have Orlando as our server. We have known Orlando since he started in Massapequa so so long ago. Through hard work and a glowing personality, he worked his way up in the Butera's family. Food was great as usual and portion size has remained remarkably large even with food prices soaring. Good food in a comfortable atmosphere allowed us plenty of time to catch up with a good friend we hadn’t seen in a while. A good time was had by all.

Two girlfriends out for a nice evening to catch up and we couldn’t have been more pleased with our meal, the service and the overall experience! The owner passed through the restaurant on several occasions, checking in with customers and making sure they were happy. Though I’ve eaten here several times in the past and enjoyed my meal, I had forgotten about this restaurant and was beyond impressed last night! I look forward to returning soon.
