    We went there for Valentine's Day, but with a very loud bar crowd and closely spaced tables, it was not particularly romantic. Food was good, but not great. My wife order the NY Strip. It was cooked properly, but one end was seasoned nicely while the other end was bland. I ordered the shrimp and scallops risotto. The scallops were delicious, but the shrimp were bland and some were overcooked. Similarly, the service was good, but not great. The waitress was pleasant, explained the specials, and took our orders. As happens often, moments after the runner brought our meals, she came by to ask how they were. We saw her again when we were done with the meal. Overall, a fine place to dine, but not as good as the prices would suggest.

    This is an outstanding restaurant! We ate here last year while in Beaufort. This time was even better. I chose a high top table in the lounge…like being where there’s more activity. We had Ozzie as our waiter, and he was the bartender as well. He was excellent, great service with friendliness as well. I had Chicken with collards and selected broccolini instead of potatoes. My husband had the Filet with potatoes and asparagus. We both had the grilled Caesar. Everything was first class decadent! If we come back next year, we’ll have a third visit.

    It was our first time eating at Breakwater. We had originally made the reservations for two. At the last minute, we had friends come in to town and we asked to change the reservations to four. It was a busy night, but the were able to seat us in the dining room. We were very appreciative of that.

    Our server, Juliet, was the best in all respects. We celebrated my wife’s 77th birthday and were very, very pleased with the service, food and ambiance. When dinner concluded, When dinner concluded Juliet presented us with a very tasty creme brulee. We are very happy customers.

    We were seated right away and offered beverages immediately. Our waitress was very helpful when we asked for details of dishes and their preparation. All the dishes were presented beautifully and tasted wonderful. Courses arrived quite quickly. A slightly more leisurely pace would have encouraged us to savor each course on its own. I'm sorry we hadn't discovered this restaurant earlier on in our visit to Beaufort, but what a wonderful meal to have on our last night.
