Bistro Byronz was born from the simple definition of a true bistro: an unpretentious neighborhood restaurant where friends and families gather day and night to relax, share conversation and enjoy good food and drink at reasonable prices. From that day on, we have prided ourselves in serving deliciously simple, bistro-inspired dishes done the Southern way — comfortable yet special, casual yet elegant, and a bit curious and undefined.

A Southern version of the quaint cafes in Paris, with the sophistication and casual flare of New York City bistros, incorporating the flavors, culture and lagniappe of Louisiana was to us the perfect and distinct approach.

We called to add a person to our reservation and when we got there, it wasn’t changed and they crammed us into a small table. Four of the eight of us ordered dishes with rice and as the meal was getting served, they told us they ran out of rice for two of them. Out of rice in Louisiana. People that got the two with rice felt guilty as Mac and cheese didn’t compliment their entree. Then they offered desserts as compensation, so when we ordered the four desserts, they only comped one. The creole pot roast had no flavor and tasted as it was made and frozen in portions and the seared tuna tasted like frozen prepackaged tuna. Our server was sweet, but that was the only thing this restaurant had going for them.

Our server, didn’t share her name…. In her defense I was on the phone when she approached…. But she was very sweet and patient as my party was late!

It was called a naked omelette because it just had cheese, but it was hard and dry rather than fluffy and light eggs. Do not have to have a lot of fillings to be fluffed.
