Given the reviews I’d read, our experience was a disappointment. The space is lovely and the service was good but the food was just so-so. We shared a Caesar salad which was ok tho the polenta croutons that came with it were yummy. The bread was good too. Our mains were what fell short. We both had the chicken piccata and while it was a big portion and the chicken was cooked well, the piccata sauce was overpowering — quite sweet and not well-balanced. Neither of us ate much of it. I wish one of us had tried a pasta dish to see if those are better. Decent though small list of wines by the glass.

Bambino’s is a fantastic Italian restaurant in Cole Valley. It’s conveniently located near Cole & Carl, easily accessible via the N-line. The atmosphere is warm & gracious. The food was great. I love the pasta dishes and the tiramisu is a must.

Perfect neighborhood place! It's been around for decades and has the personal touch and comfortable ambiance to get me to come back. Food is generous, delicious and the the owner is very friendly and attentive. We felt very cared for!

Authentic Italian restaurant in the heart of Cole Valley. Hard to find this level of quality and service at reasonable prices these days.

It was our first time at Bambino's. It was hopping; very popular neighborhood hangout and a good value for four people going out to dinner. Three of us enjoyed our food, the fourth didn't. She had the veal and thought the sauce was too runny/not too tasty. I had gluten free pizza which was delicious and my husband had the linguine vongole which he really enjoyed. The wine was a great value and tasty at $40/bottle-a good value for wine out. Wait staff was friendly, as was the owner who made us feel welcome. We would gladly come back.
