    Amazing from the most moment we walked in we were welcomed like we were regulars. The interior and ambience is really quite beautiful. I had read a lot of reviews as I always do so I take my reviewing very seriously. I almost didn't go based on some negative reviews, but there were so many good ones I decided to try it. We were not disappointed. We happen to luck out and get Darnell as our waiter. I have read a lot about him, and he was every bit as wonderful as other reviewer said everyone there went above and beyond to make sure the water was filled to make sure our food was good at Dornell's suggestion I ordered the whole fried flounder or something I've never had. It was absolutely delicious and he even instructed me on the correct way to eat it around the bones my partner got the halibut and it was also delicious. We got the shrimp de jonghe as the appetizer which was to die for, and because we told them it was our anniversary in the reservation they brought us two glasses of champagne and a beautiful plate, written in chocolate, good wishes with some cream and berries. I would absolutely recommend this and go here again.

    Fantastic food, fabulous experience. Great acknowledgment for our anniversary with a small dessert and 2 glasses of champagne, such a meaningful touch and a most memorable experience. Definitely do not miss an opportunity to dine here if you are visiting this beautiful city. We also ate in both sister restaurants in Savannah which were also truly amazing. Would highly recommend all 3 restaurants

    Wonderful food, wonderful service and wonderful atmosphere! We have visited many times but this was our second time bringing friends for NYE and it has always been perfect! One of the best restaurants in Charleston!

    We were lucky to celebrate New Year’s Eve at one of the most beautiful restaurants in Charleston. Decor, food, service, ambience, low noise level… All were perfected by Anson’s owners and staff. I highly recommend this restaurant.

    Classic style low country elegance. Service was excellent and the menu has many great choices. The scallops entree was far too salty. Guessing the scallops were soaked in brine prior to cooking.

    NYE at Anson was great. Great food (only critique: the flounder was a bit dry). Great service.

    The hostess staff was so welcoming. Our server was friendly, tentative and had wonderful recommendations. The She-Crab Soup, Wagyu Gnocchi and the Scallops were delicious. We also had the Crème Brûlée and Pecan Pie which were both fantastic. We sat in the newly renovated room to the right at the top of the stairs. It was a beautiful and intimate atmosphere. We are local to Charleston but often drive to Savannah to the sister restaurant, The Olde Pink House so we had high expectations for Anson. Needless to say, it was fantastic and we will definitely be back!

    Server Paul was phenomenal…food sorry to say was overpriced for the quality we received… $60 filet, did not seem prime at all more like Saltgrass or Outback steakhouses quality but 2x price…grouper with the nuts and sauce, did not go together and salmon was dried out… app was not what app was advertised either…but the ambience service and staff overrode the 2 star food on this review
