Amuse is a seasonal, farm to table driven restaurant, located on the third floor of the museum. Whether you are dining in our main dining room, full-service bar, or our private dining room, you will be able to take in sweeping views of the Robins Sculpture Garden and the museum’s Cochrane Atrium. Our team works diligently to provide a menu that is directly inspired by the art-filled surroundings, current exhibitions, and seasonality while also carefully selecting only the finest ingredients from local vendors, artisans, and farmers. Just a friendly reminder that the museum does not allow balloons, confetti, glitter, plants potted with soil, and candles with open flames. If a date and time you seek for a reservation appears to be full, please give us a call so we can see what other times might be available.

I got a vegetarian dish that was a very small serving and may have cost approximately $1.50 to make. Yet I was charged over $20 for this dish. This is why I cannot say I received a good value for my money. My companion had a very nice chicken sandwich. The ruby port and desserts were delightful!

Perfect place for a Sunday Brunch! We had some the best quiche that we have ever eaten! The service was superb and we were in an art gallery…perfect!

The food was tastefully and cleverly presented. All dishes were delicious. Our view was lovely and the scoop of birthday wish ice cream was a lovely touch.

A lunch with two friends at Amuse recently was delightful and of a high standard from start to finish. The view out over grounds, with a magnificent tree we could not stop looking at, is beautiful .The ambience is elegant but not fussy. The server was friendly and attentive. The food, like the ambience, is elegant but not fussy. Every dish was good, and so attractive on the plate. It was really a lovely experience. We are from Charlottesville, and hour plus away. But we are planning another occasion to visit in the spring if not before.

Everyone loved their meals except me. My pork loin was so over salted I took it home to feed my chickens. So don’t order the pork loin and you’ll be fine!

Food was delicious though I wish the hot peppers didn’t pervade every dish. That said, the oysters and Chocolate dessert were exceptional. Service was perfect—our server was knowledgeable, friendly and efficient. And the restaurant itself is beautiful, sophisticated without being cold.
